Honeywell Aerospace launches Ascend Academy STEM education program at NASA’s Space Camp®

PHOENIX, Sept. 9, 2026 – Honeywell Aerospace (Nasdaq: HONA) today announced the details of its Ascend Academy, the inaugural Honeywell Aerospace program at Space Camp®, which will take place October 4-9, 2026, at NASA’s U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

For the past 15 years, Honeywell has inspired the next generation of future scientists, engineers, aviators and astronauts through the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy at Space Camp®. Honeywell Aerospace, which became an independent publicly traded company separate from Honeywell Technologies in June, will now continue the tradition through Ascend Academy.

The week-long immersive STEM education and leadership development program helps students build problem-solving skills and creativity by practicing incident command scenarios and simulated space missions in a state-of-the-art space shuttle simulator. Ascend Academy is the centerpiece of Honeywell Aerospace’s wider efforts to promote STEM education through partnerships with school districts and universities in several states.

This year, 96 high school students ages 16-18 from 10 countries, 13 U.S. states and Puerto Rico will experience what it’s like to work as teams across international boundaries and missions.

For many students, the camp can be a catalyst for the launch of their professional journey. Jacob Danforth is a high school junior from Sammamish, Wash., whose mother works at Honeywell Aerospace.

"I'm interested in pursuing electrical engineering and/or computer science, and the academy will give me valuable skills I will be able to apply throughout my academic career and beyond,” he said.

Ascend Academy received 180 applications from children of Honeywell Aerospace employees and from members of non-profit partners focused on delivering STEM education, including Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Operation Breakthrough and Gentlemen’s Quest of Tampa, Inc.
