Honeywell Aerospace Trading: Sourcing hard-to-find parts for 25 years

For a quarter of a century, we’ve been supplying you with high-quality, OEM-backed surplus and reconditioned components to help manage costs and improve operations.

Key takeaways

  • How you can improve operations with high-quality surplus and reconditioned components.
  • How Honeywell Aerospace Trading complements our global support network.
  • How we can help you deal with supply chain challenges.
  • How OEM-backed surplus and reconditioned components can help operators improve aircraft availability and manage costs.

For 25 years our customers have trusted Honeywell Aerospace Trading (HAT) to provide high-quality, OEM-backed surplus and reconditioned components to improve fleet availability, reduce costs and maintain reliable operations.

What started with a single used engine sale in 2001 has evolved into a global business built on quality, transparency and customer trust. That vision still guides everything we do.

“From the beginning, our goal has been to create a trusted marketplace for quality surplus equipment, giving customers greater flexibility to execute their sourcing strategies," said Karen Fore, HAT project lead.

“Because they're backed by our engineering, repair expertise and OEM quality standards, reconditioned components deliver trusted performance and reliability throughout their service life,” she added.

Over the years, the HAT team has worked hard to build a distinctive brand underscoring the benefits of the program’s unique approach to parts sourcing.

“For example, when we first started we used small stickers on every shipment to remind customers that Honeywell Aerospace quality was embedded in the HAT equipment,” Fore recalled.

Making smarter sourcing decisions

HAT maintains a vast inventory of serviceable surplus and reconditioned parts, backed by our world-renowned engineering, repair and aftermarket expertise.

“We help customers overcome supply chain challenges, source hard-to-find components and keep their fleets flying safely, reliably and efficiently,” Fore said. “We enable operators to make smarter supply decisions through trusted sourcing, greater parts availability and OEM-backed expertise.”

HAT has built a sterling reputation with:

  • OEM-backed quality with trusted traceability and documentation.
  • Global inventory of serviceable aerospace components ready to support operators worldwide.
  • 25 years of aftermarket expertise serving commercial, business and military aviation.
  • Integrated lifecycle support backed by Honeywell's repair, overhaul and engineering capabilities.
  • Faster access to critical parts to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability.

Sourcing serviceable components

HAT sources OEM-backed surplus aircraft parts and serviceable aircraft components from trusted channels, including surplus inventory, exchanges, customer assets and strategic acquisitions.

When market conditions and customer demand justify it, HAT acquires entire aircraft to recover high-demand, serviceable components that can no longer be sourced easily through traditional supply channels.

According to Fore, “Every component is inspected, documented and supported through our quality processes, giving customers confidence in the traceability, serviceability and reliability of the parts they purchase.”

HAT complements our global support network

Working closely with our global network of repair centers and industry-leading aftermarket support team, HAT gives customers access to thousands of new, serviceable and OEM-certified reconditioned components.

“Our inventory includes engines, APUs, avionics, cockpit displays, navigation and communication equipment and other rotable aircraft parts,” Fore said.

“HAT components are completely backed by Honeywell's engineering expertise, repair capabilities and OEM quality standards, giving customers confidence in its traceability, documentation and serviceability,” she added.

“From the beginning, our goal has been to create a trusted marketplace for quality surplus equipment, giving customers greater flexibility to execute their sourcing strategies. What started with a single used engine sale in 2001 has evolved into a global business built on quality, transparency and customer trust. That vision still guides everything we do.”
