Global reach and community access
Interest in the program continues to grow, with 135 applications received and 98 students accepted, plus 15 participants from key nonprofit partners including Gentlemen’s Quest of Tampa, Boys & Girls Club of Scottsdale, and Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City.
This year’s cohort represents:
- Students from 10 countries,
- Dozens of U.S. states,
- A wide mix of high school and university-bound leaders enthusiastic about aerospace, engineering and STEM innovation.
This global footprint aligns strongly with Honeywell Aerospace’s CSI pillar of Creating Tomorrow’s Innovators, expanding access to STEM pathways and fueling long-term workforce development.
Inspiring STEM and leadership experiences
Ascend Academy’s curriculum blends mission simulations, aerospace labs, teamwork challenges and leadership workshops — content Honeywell helped design over the years and continues to evolve. Next year, the program will integrate even more aviation-focused experiences, deepening alignment with Honeywell Aerospace’s mission.
Students will also hear from inspiring speakers, including:
- Tori Burgess, Sr. Director of U.S. Army Programs, delivering the graduation keynote. With 30+ years in the industry and deep ties to Huntsville, Tori brings real-world aerospace leadership insight.
- Dr. Alexandra Kemp, advanced systems engineer, eight-time Space Camp attendee, and opera singer—showcasing the creative dimension of STEM.
These leaders exemplify diversity of experience and the passion behind Honeywell’s commitment to STEM education.
The inaugural Honeywell Aerospace program at Space Camp® takes place October 4-9, 2026. The application process for 2027 opens in May.
Bringing the experience to life through storytelling
Communications and brand teams will be on-site capturing photos, video and impact moments throughout Ascend Academy week. This content will support digital signage, internal storytelling, social campaigns, talent acquisition needs and a dedicated web page showcasing the Ascend Academy experience.
A post-event highlight video will give students, families, employees, and partners a vibrant look at the week’s energy—another step in amplifying Honeywell’s investment in community impact and the future of STEM.
