IntuVue RDR-4000 3D Weather Radar System
Overview
IntuVue RDR-4000 is a member of Honeywell’s family of advanced weather radar systems. IntuVue automatically scans the sky at 17 tilt angles – the most in the industry – and delivers a 3-D view of the weather through an intuitive display that pilots love.
RDR-4000 uses 3-D volumetric scanning and pulse compression technologies to provide a complete view of the weather from 0 to 60,000 feet across a 320 nm detection range. Weather analysis features help pilots better understand weather hazards and calculate the best strategic and tactical responses. While the unique display capability combines both weather and terrain data to provide a more intuitive horizontal and virtual view of upcoming weather dynamics. Pilots can select individual slices of the airspace; including specific range, azimuth or altitude displays, to make more informed routing and maneuvering decisions.
IntuVue was designed using the latest technology, while competing radars still use base systems with limited tilt angles designed in the 1980s and 1990s. With IntuVue you get the full picture, from the ground to 60,000 feet.
