Multiplexer / Demultiplexer Application Test Environment (MATE)
Overview
The Multiplexer/Demultiplexer Application Test Environment (MATE)-4 System provides an environment for developing, debugging, integrating and testing User Application Software (UAS) that will execute in Multiplexer / DeMultiplexers (MDMs), a major component in many of the subsystems on board the International Space Station (ISS).
The MATE-4 has the capability of a) simulating an MDM and UAS internally in both non-real-time and real-time, b) interfacing with an MDM to provide a simulated environment to allow execution of the UAS, and c) interfacing with an MDM connected to real flight hardware sensors and effectors for controlling execution during final check out.
The MATE-4 can be used to perform flight hardware and software component system integration, acceptance and qualification testing.
