FMS Guided Visual Approaches Database
Overview
The FMS Guided Visual Approaches Database delivers specially developed visual approach procedures that provide pilots with repeatable, stabilized flight paths during visual operations. Coded directly into the flight management system, these approaches offer both lateral and vertical guidance and can be flown manually or coupled to the aircraft’s autopilot. Utilizing advanced Radius-to-Fix (RF) leg technology, the procedures help aircraft remain aligned with runway environments while respecting surrounding terrain and airspace constraints. The result is improved situational awareness, reduced cockpit workload, enhanced approach consistency, and greater operational confidence during challenging visual arrivals, particularly at airports without published instrument approaches. Honeywell Aerospace continues expanding the database based on customer demand and operational needs.
